AJ Styles Absent Until WrestleMania 40

AJ Styles will not be appearing on SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania 40.

In the past few weeks, AJ Styles has been embroiled in a rivalry with LA Knight. Things moved up a gear between the two men at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia when Styles entered the chamber and attacked Knight with a steel chair, ending his hopes of becoming the number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

On the March 15th edition of SmackDown, in an attempt to find some retribution, Knight challenged The Phenomenal One to a match at WrestleMania 40. Styles responded by laying Knight out with a steel chair before accepting the bout.

While Knight might be looking to get some payback on Styles for the attack, it’s going to have to wait. Taking to social media, the former WWE Champion told Knight he had no interest in giving him the opportunity for an ambush, so wouldn’t be appearing on SmackDown before they meet at WrestleMania.

“So let me get this straight LA Knight, the next time you see me, you’re going to physically harm me. Well, I’m not going to let that happen, I’m not that stupid. I won’t be at SmackDown, so you can keep looking. But I’ll be at WrestleMania, I’ll see you there.”

LA Knight Wants To Win Titles In WWE

Despite becoming one of the most popular stars in the company in record time, LA Knight is frustrated not to have won any titles in WWE so far. During a recent interview, the Megastar explained that, while he has had a good career in the company so far, he has nothing to show for it in terms of winning gold.
