AJ Lee’s First WWE Match In 3827 Days OFFICIAL

Following her return on Friday Night SmackDown, AJ Lee is set to wrestle her first match in WWE in over 10 years.

CM Punk was outnumbered by Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Clash in Paris and the subsequent Monday Night RAW. Just as he was about to land his second GTS on Rollins and claim the World Heavyweight Championship, Lynch ambushed him with a low-blow. The very next day on RAW, Lynch slapped Punk multiple times.

Punk wasn’t going to put his hand on a woman, so he went to SmackDown, which aired from the Allstate Arena, Chicago. He called for reinforcements, a particularly strong one, his wife, AJ Lee. The Black Widow made her WWE return to a thunderous pop after being for over 3810 days away from the company.

Now, on September 8, RAW, Lee came back to address the WWE Universe with Lynch’s Intercontinental Championship around her waist, calling it her own. The Man interrupted her segment and asked for the title back, while revealing the black eye Lee gave her. Lee laid the title down on the mat and asked Lynch to come and get it, which Rollins tried to do, but Lee got in his way. Then CM Punk made his entrance and attempted a GTS on Rollins, but he escaped.

Lee said if Lynch wants her title back, she has to agree to a tag-team match between Lee-Punk vs Lynch-Rollins. Lynch was hesitant following Friday’s beatdown, but Rollins immediately said yes, confirming the match.

WrestlePalooza is scheduled for September 20, streaming live on ESPN in the United States from Indianapolis. The mixed tag-team match will be the first time Lee steps inside the WWE ring for a match after 3827 days.

AJ Lee’s Last WWE Match

Lee teamed up with Paige against the Bella Twins at WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015, for a tag-team match between the four Divas. Lee and Paige won this match in just over 5 minutes. This led to a six-Diva tag team match between Lee-Paige, along with Naomi, to defeat the team of Bella Twins and Natalya.

This was Lee’s last WWE match before she left the company due to her neck issues. She later said she had retired from wrestling forever, but due to recent events and Lynch’s involvement in her husband’s matters, Lee had to step in, making one of the grandest returns in WWE history.
