John Cena is facing the end of his WWE career, but there are a few formidable obstacles in the way. With Cena’s first and only PLE match in France coming up, the future WWE Hall of Famer has stopped to set the record straight on a rumor that has made the rounds for decades.
The Never Seen 17 has been embraced by a majority of the wrestling world during his retirement tour, heel turn or not. Cena developed controversial reputations over the years, and quickly became one of wrestling’s most polarizing headliners as Vince McMahon pushed him straight to the top, regardless of what the WWE Universe thought.
Cena has developed certain reputations in the locker-room as well, though he’s widely viewed as a leader and respected veteran these days. In Cena’s new interview with Justin Barrasso of The Boston Herald, it was noted that his final opponent is likely to be Brock Lesnar.
John Cena Dismisses Rumor On Choosing His WWE Opponents
John Cena is currently on his farewell tour, and it’s believed that he likely has at least some input into his final series of opponents. In his new interview with The Boston Herald’s Justin Barrasso, Big Match John touched on the speculation surrounding his final opponent, but intends to keep everyone guessing for as long as possible.
“I’ve been doing this for 23 years, and I’ve never once chosen my opponent. I’ve always lived by the philosophy that life will give you opportunities every single day, and you have to do the best you can every single day with what life gives you. So whoever challenges me for that last match, I’m going to give it my best shot,” John Cena said.
Cena is set to wrestle Logan Paul for the first-time-ever on August 31 at WWE Clash In Paris. Last Friday’s SmackDown in Montreal was headlined by Cena and Cody Rhodes defeating Paul and Drew McIntyre via DQ.
