AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has voiced her concerns over WWE RAW’s hour cut.
Monday Night RAW is rumored to be a 2-hour show from their usual 3-hour mark from October 7th, 2024 till December 30th, 2024.
However, this hour cut has raised several questions, with former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr predicting WWE release superstars to Mone voicing her concerns over the women wrestler’s utilization in the brand. In her Mone Mag newsletter, she expressed her mixed feelings:
Now, let’s talk RAW. Word is that it’s dropping from 3 hours to 2, and honestly, I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I’ve always loved having that extra hour because it gives more performers a chance to shine. Losing that time could mean fewer opportunities for the roster. It’s hard enough for talent, especially women, to get TV time.”
WWE RAW has been a three-hour show since 2012, and after 12 years, the show is finally reverting to the 2-hour format. However, it is still unknown if the two-hour limit is set to continue upon the promotion’s transition to Netflix from January 2025.
In the same newsletter, Mone also spoke about a silver lining amidst the company’s Netflix move.

Writing on the Mone Mag, the current TBS Champion further commented about how Netflix can work as a silver lining for the promotion, and help utilize the talents more. Although initially skeptical about the female roster’s contribution upon the hour cut, she believes Netflix can help bring up more opportunities.
The silver lining could be Netflix. With Netflix, I’m assuming (and hoping) there will be many new ways to showcase talent. In the end, I’m about more opportunities for talent, which leads to more entertainment for fans and more money for the business. It’s the best way for all to win – especially the roster and fans.”
