AEW Wrestler Leaving Promotion Imminently

A member of the AEW roster will become a free agent on February 28th.

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Leyla Hirsch’s contract expires tomorrow and she will not be staying with the company. It is also added that Hirsch will become a free agent immediately.

Hirsch made her debut in October 2020, losing to Hikaru Shida on AEW Dark. Hirsch made her televised debut for the company the next day as she unsuccessfully challenged Serena Deeb for the NWA World Women’s Championship. Her signing was confirmed by Tony Khan in March 2021.

Hirsch suffered a torn ACL while competing on Dark Elevation in April 2022. Returning to the ring in June 2023, Hirsch mainly competed on Ring of Honor during her remaining time in the company with occasional appearances on Rampage and Collision.

Leyla Hirsch’s final match with the company took place at Final Battle 2024, which saw her unsuccessfully challenge Red Velvet for the ROH Women’s World Television Title.

Leyla Hirsch Becomes Latest AEW Departure

Multiple wrestlers have left All Elite Wrestling in February 2025. The first departure was Malakai Black, who finished up with the promotion at Full Gear 2024. Shortly afterwards, news broke that Miro had also departed the company after more than a year of inactivity. Miro last competed at Worlds End 2023 against Andrade.

The final release was Ricky Starks, who had been off TV for reasons unknown for the best part of a year. While Black and Miro have yet to join a major promotion, Starks wasted no time in confirming what was next for him in the wrestling world as he made his shock arrival on WWE NXT the next night. Signing his contract the following week, Ricky Starks now competes under the name Ricky Saints.

In recent news, AEW higher-ups have reportedly reacted to the “Tony fumbled” chants on the February 25 episode of WWE NXT.
