After a Golden Ticket Battle Royal at Rampage Grand Slam, Jon Moxley has a new number one contender for the AEW World Title and the date for the match has been set!
At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson met in the main event to decide a new AEW World Champion. Moxley was bidding to win the title for a record third time while Danielson was looking to win his first World Championship since 2019.
In the end it was Moxley who picked up the win after a terrifically hard-hitting contest.
Moxley already has one challenger waiting in the wings after MJF won the Casino Ladder Match at All Out. This entitles the Salt of the Earth to a shot at the World Championship whenever he chooses. However, someone else has now guaranteed themselves a match with the new champion.
On the special AEW Rampage Grand Slam show to be broadcast on September 23rd a Golden Ticket Battle Royal was held to decide a new number one contender.
The match was won by Hangman Adam Page who lastly eliminated Rush to score the victory. It has already been announced that the match between the pair will take place on the October 18th edition of Dynamite which will be held on a Tuesday.
Hangman Page is of course another former World Champion having held the title for 197 days from Full Gear 2021 until Double or Nothing 2022 when he was defeated by CM Punk.
