AEW World Title Match Confirmed For Double Or Nothing

Don Callis Kenny Omega in AEW

Kenny Omega will defend his AEW World Title against Orange Cassidy and PAC at AEW Double or Nothing.

Orange Cassidy and PAC had been due to clash to determine the number one contender on AEW Dynamite. However, the match ended in a no contest after interference from Omega and Don Callis.

Callis came down to the ring and distracted PAC and the referee, while Omega snuck in the ring and hit PAC from behind with the title belt. With Cassidy already down, both men were then counted out. Don Callis and Omega began to celebrate believing that there would be no match at the upcoming spectacular, but there was one more twist in the tail. Tony Schiavone revealed that he had been informed that Omega will defend the AEW World Title against both Orange Cassidy and PAC.

On a blockbuster edition of AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes also revealed that he will be taking on Anthony Ogogo at Double or Nothing. Rhodes and the former Olympian have been embroiled in a heated feud since Ogogo joined forces with QT Marshall, Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto back in March.

To add to the gravity of the clash, Rhodes revealed that he will be assuming the ‘American Dream’ moniker made famous by his late father Dusty Rhodes.

It has also been announced that Hikaru Shida will defend her AEW Women’s World Title against Britt Baker.

Baker has steadily risen up the rankings in recent weeks and months and now finds herself occupying the number one spot. Baker finally topped the rankings after Tay Conti was unsuccessful in her attempt to dethrone the champion on the April 21st edition of AEW Dynamite.

Meanwhile, Hikaru Shida has held the AEW Women’s World Title for almost a year, after winning the belt at the 2020 edition of Double or Nothing.
