AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Finalists Confirmed

AEW World Championship on AEW Dynamite 2022

After injury forced the annual Full Gear tradition to be delayed, the finalists in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament have now been decided.

Ethan Page had already secured a spot in the finals having got past Eddie Kingston and Bandido in recent weeks but the identity of his opponent remained a mystery. Ricky Starks initially wasn’t cleared to compete which led to his match against Lance Archer being postponed. However, the former Team Taz member finally dispatched Archer on the November 18th edition of Rampage.

Ricky Starks One Match Away From AEW World Title Shot

Starks came to the ring still feeling the effects of a beatdown from Archer after their match just 24-hours ago. This was something not lost on Brian Cage who quickly attacked his taped up shoulder and ribs.

However, despite being far from 100%, Starks kept fighting back and scored a near-fall with a huge Spear. After kicking out, Cage levelled Starks again and headed to the top rope. Only problem being, no one was home when he went for a huge elbow drop. Starks then hit a stunning Destroyer straight into the Ro-Sham-Bo to grab a memorable win.

The winner of the bout between Ethan Page and Ricky Starks will get a shot at the AEW World Champion at Winter Is Coming.

The AEW World Championship will be on the line at AEW Full Gear when Jon Moxley defends the gold against MJF. The Salt of the Earth earned himself a shot at the gold back at All Out when he returned to win the Casino Ladder Match, albeit with an assist from The Firm. Jon Moxley is in the midst of his third reign with the title having become the first match to achieve that feat at Dynamite Grand Slam by defeating Bryan Danielson.
