Britt Baker will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Red Velvet on the debut episode of AEW Rampage on August 13th.
At AEW Homecoming, Baker arrived in the ring to give an interview with Tony Schiavone and address the fans. Just as the champion began to speak Red Velvet marched to the ring with only one thing on her mind.
Velvet, who is currently ranked 3rd in the AEW women’s division strode right up to Baker and asked for a title match. Baker scoffed at her new challenger reminding the world that she beat Velvet in three minutes back in September. However, Velvet wasn’t to be deterred, dismissing Baker’s insult before declaring that she is currently 22-4, and on a seven match winning streak.
Baker then accepted the match, announcing that it will take place in her home town of Pittsburgh on the debut episode of AEW Rampage.

Britt Baker won the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double or Nothing back in May. Her most recent defence came against Nyla Rose at Fyter Fest.
During the match Baker sustained a broken wrist, but hasn’t missed any TV time.
It was also announced at Homecoming that Mark Henry, Excalibur, Chris Jericho and Taz will make up the broadcast team for AEW’s newest show.
