With the colder weather and darker nights now setting in, AEW has announced that once again Winter Is Coming to the company in December.
On the 19th of November edition of Rampage, the announcement was made that for the second year in a row a special Dynamite in December will be entitled Winter Is Coming.
The first-ever AEW Winter Is Coming was held on the 2nd of December 2020 and was one of the company’s more historic shows. Kenny Omega unveiled his alliance with Don Callis and stole the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley. Also, that night saw the introduction of The Icon Sting as the WWE Hall Of Famer made his AEW debut.
Winter Is Coming will be held this year on December 15th and will emanate from Garland, Texas. There is no word yet if this will be where Bryan Danielson repeats Omega’s feat and challenges for the AEW World Championship having won the All Elite Wrestling World Title Eliminator Tournament at Full Gear.
Tony Khan has also announced that Winter Is Coming this year will be notable as that is when information will be released for the highly anticipated Owen Hart Cup. In September the company announced a partnership with The Owen Hart Foundation with a tournament to honour Hart’s legacy in the wrestling business as part of that deal.
