Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is finally back and wrestling.
Sidelined with diverticulitis, Kenny Omega returned to wrestling after almost a year and defeated Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty in a 30-minute encounter. Critics lauded the match as one of the finest of the evening, highlighting Omega’s display of dominance at the Tokyo Dome.
Now back in the squared circle and scheduled to appear tonight on the January 8th episode of Dynamite, Omega’s return was recently hailed as a blessing. Former multi-time World Champion and an All Elite Wrestling veteran, Jeff Jarrett recently opened up on The Cleaner’s recovery battle and wrestling comeback.
Speaking on the My World podcast. Jarrett claimed,
“A blessing for all involved. I don’t know the exact ins and outs, I won’t even do it justice, it was more than a health scare. For him to come back and match one, literally match one, that was amazing. That’s all I’ll say. He is a once in a lifetime professional wrestler. This ain’t his first rodeo, for him to come back on that stage and have that intensity, hats off to my man. I am certainly glad that he is back in the active role of AEW wrestler.”

Jeff Jarrett recently discussed his wrestling future and revealed signing his final pro-wrestling contract. He is now expected to go on a hunt for the World Championship.
Omega is now expected to continue his feud with Kazuchika Okada, who played a vital role in sidelining him last year in May. The former champion presented Okada with the Continental Classic title at the Worlds End PPV and shared an intense stare-down.
Kenny Omega Wants To See A Few AEW Stars Back In NJPW
After the Jacksonville-based promotion formed in 2019, several Indie talents and international wrestlers made their way into the company. Amongst those names, many were established stars in NJPW.
“Many of the top wrestlers in AEW have an aspect of having come from New Japan, like (Will) Ospreay, Jay White and (Kazuchika) Okada. They achieved results in Japan, came to AEW, won the belt and became stars. So I think it would be more interesting if those kinds of wrestlers came back to New Japan and had more matches to see who would win, the current AEW star or the New Japan star.”

Shortly after his Dynamite return, Kenny Omega’s return match was announced.
