What AEW Talent Think Of Kyle Fletcher’s Move Causing Adam Cole’s Injury

AEW locker room’s reaction after Kyle Fletcher’s risky spot with Adam Cole.

Adam Cole was supposed to defend the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher at AEW All In: Texas. Unfortunately for the star, it was announced hours before the pay-per-view that he would have to relinquish the title and step away from wrestling for a while due to an injury, even alluding to a possible retirement. The gold was later defended in a four-way match, which saw Dustin Rhodes walk away the victor.

It was later reported that the reason for Adam Cole’s injury was the lariat he received from Kyle Fletcher during their trios Collision match days before All In. This led to the former champion sustaining a concussion, which caused some concern as he had dealt with a couple of recent concussions already.

During a Q&A Session with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, it was said that Kyle delivering a couple of hard-hitting shots didn’t sit well with AEW talent, especially since Adam had already been dealing with concussions.

Fletcher giving Cole two bad shots to the head within a month of concussion related hiatus, raise many questions backstage. There have certainly been talent that have said, ‘Do you know what spot it happened on?’, and I said, ‘Yes, it was the lariat,’ and they said, ‘Yeah,’ and I think it was done as a message.”

AEW Talents Still Like Kyle Fletcher Despite What Happened With Adam Cole

Sean Ross Sapp added that despite what happened, the AEW locker room has a positive outlook on Kyle Fletcher. However, it’s still important that the AEW star should remember to look after the person they are sharing the ring with.

People like Kyle Fletcher, they like him a lot, but sometimes they want that stuff out there where it’s like, even though he’s a nice guy, take care of your people a little bit better.”
