AEW World Tag Team Title Match Set For Double Or Nothing

A huge three way match for the AEW World Tag Team Titles has been confirmed for Double or Nothing on May 29th.

While tensions have been brewing between Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express and Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs, things went up a level on May 18th.

On Dynamite, Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee squared off against The Workhorsemen, in a match they would ultimately win. With victory, the pair moved into the top five of the tag team rankings, putting them into contention for a title shot.

After the match, Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs came to ringside, running down the two men in the ring. However, they were quickly interrupted by the Tag Team Champions and Christian. The issues between Jurassic Express and the Team Taz members began after the champions made an open challenge to any top five tag team a few weeks ago.

Although, Hobbs and Starks answered the challenge, Jungle Boy made sure he got to challenge for the FTW Title first. During that match, Strickland inadvertently cost Jungle Boy the win.

With the three teams stood on the stage and in the ring, Christian Cage insulted both sets of challengers, before setting the stage for the match at Double or Nothing.

As a prelude to the tag team bout, Starks, Jungle Boy and Strickland will meet in a three-way match on May 25th.

At Double or Nothing it has already been announced that Hangman Adam Page will defend his AEW World Championship against CM Punk. Meanwhile, Thunder Rosa will defend her women’s crown against Serena Deeb.

The event will also play host to the finals of the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Tournaments.
