According to a new report, a top AEW tag team is expected to miss AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

With AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door less than two weeks away, the card for the super-show is beginning to take shape.

In the main event, AEW will crown a new Interim World Champion. Following the news that CM Punk would be out for an extended period due to injury, a hastily put together tournament was announced to create a new Interim World Champion while Punk recovers.

On the AEW side, on the June 8th edition of Dynamite, Kyle O’Reilly won a Casino Battle Royale, to advance to a main event showdown against the number one ranked Jon Moxley. As expected, the bout was a tremendously hard-hitting affair, with Moxley coming out on top.

Meanwhile at NJPW Dominion, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Hirooki Goto to advance to a bout with Moxley at Forbidden Door.

It has also been announced that there will be a Four-Way Match to crown the first-ever All Atlantic Champion.

However, as reported by Lucha Blog, AEW tag team stars Rey Fenix and Penta will not be appearing at the event. Something they say has been confirmed by multiple sources. It has also been reported that Andrade El Idolo is off the show, despite previously being booked to appear.

Taking to social media on June 13th Andrade claimed that he was being prevented from appearing on the show by CMLL and AAA.

The report also suggests that in light of his recent arrest, it’s highly unlikely that Jeff Hardy will be appearing at TripleMania Tijuana on Saturday June 18th.
