On the October 18th episode of AEW Dynamite, “Hangman” Adam Page faced off against Jon Moxley in the main event. The AEW Championship match between the two had been heavily promoted, with Page cutting a fiery promo last week that garnered loads of praise from his fans as one of his best promos to date.
However, the main event of AEW Dynamite came to an early and frankly scary conclusion. Jon Moxley exploded out of the corner with a monster King Kong Lariat which flipped the challenger inside out. As Moxley gathered himself the referee and the ringside doctor went to check on Page and quickly called a halt to the action as the challenger was clearly injured.
The star wasn’t shown again in the ring, and replays of the incident were also not played. As the challenger was tended to by AEW medical staff, hype packages were shown for AEW Rampage, with Page leaving on a stretcher to chants of “cowboy sh*t” from the crowd. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after he was checked out by the medical staff backstage.
Adam Page Diagnosed With A Concussion According To Update From AEW
Now, mere hours after the incident took place, AEW has issued a statement on Adam Page‘s condition following the abrupt halt to his AEW Championship match. According to the statement, Page did indeed suffer a concussion, but in positive news he’s already been released from the hospital. The statement also praised medical staff for their quick attention to Page when it became clear he was injured.
“Hangman Adam Page was taken tonight by medical personnel to a Cincinnati trauma center and diagnosed with a concussion. He was discharged, but will remain in AEW’s concussion protocol.
“AEW and Hangman Page are grateful for the exemplary response and care of staff and local medical personnel, and are appreciative of the love and support of fans everywhere.”

After the bout and while Adam Page was being medically evaluated, Jon Moxley called out Casino Ladder Match winner MJF, who challenged Moxley to a match at AEW Full Gear. Moxley accepted, and the two will go one on one on November 19th.
Everyone at Inside the Ropes sends their best wishes to Adam Page during his recovery.
