One member of the AEW roster has seen their merchandise pulled from the online store, potentially indicating a change in their status with the promotion.
Fans have spotted that the link to Rey Fenix’s merchandise on Shop AEW no longer exists. Instead, a 404 error message is displayed on the site.
The update comes a couple of days after Fenix’s former tag team partner Penta made his debut for WWE on Raw with an impressive victory over Chad Gable. A few hours before the debut, WWE made merchandise of the former AEW star available to purchase, including his signature mask.
Although Penta was able to become a free agent in the latter half of 2024 and sign with WWE, Fenix has seen injury time added onto his contract and could remain a part of All Elite Wrestling until late 2025. Fenix has spoken out numerous times about the situation in a series of social media posts that were later deleted.
There has been no update as to why Fenix has seen his merchandise pulled from the store. Some fans have speculated that it may indicate that a Fenix release may have been agreed to, but this has not been confirmed.
It should be noted that merchandise from absent star Ricky Starks is available along with Malakai Black, who is reportedly no longer with the promotion.
Recently, a former WWE star has defended Tony Khan over criticism of his treatment of Rey Fenix.
