AEW Stars Frustrated Over Creative Decisions

Recent reports have shed light on the frustration experienced by some AEW stars regarding their limited in-ring opportunities within the company.

In the latest edition of the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter,” Dave Meltzer delved into the challenges faced by AEW talent, despite the substantial investments made in signing new performers.

Meltzer’s commentary highlighted the disparity between the financial investments in talent and the insufficient opportunities provided for them to showcase their skills in the ring. He noted:

Creative certainly has questions. A lot of money has been spent on some talent that has contributed very little.

The evolution of AEW’s backstage atmosphere was also underscored, as Meltzer pointed out a shift from a positive and inclusive work environment to one marked by frustration among wrestlers. While acknowledging the financial stability that AEW offers its talent, Meltzer emphasised the dissatisfaction stemming from the lack of significant in-ring time and career progression.

AEW went from the fun place to work with the great backstage camaraderie when WWE talent for the most part were walking on eggshells, to a place with a lot of frustration from wrestlers making a nice and even great living but not getting anywhere near the ring time nor upward mobility hoped for.
