An AEW star who previously competed in WWE has had their charges relating to domestic violence against their boyfriend dropped.

Jake Atlas, who signed with AEW back in January, was arrested on May 23rd in Orlando, FL. According to a report from PWInsider, Atlas, real name Kenny Sanchez Martinez, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery (a domestic assault charge) against his partner of several years.

PWInsider shared the details of the police report, which states that police were called to the home that Atlas shared with his partner (who is not being named due to their status as a victim of a crime) at 12:57 am on May 23rd.

According to the report, Atlas was out drinking at Big Daddy’s Roadhouse and called his partner for a ride home around 10 pm. However, when his partner arrived at the restaurant, Atlas wanted them to stay and continue drinking with him. According to the victim, Atlas wanted them to go to a friend’s house to be intimate together but Atlas became upset that his partner was showing “half more attention to her,” which initiated a “verbal argument.”

The report continued, stating that Jake Atlas “became physically aggressive” and charged at his partner, and a witness had to intervene to prevent an attack. The witness invited the intoxicated Atlas to come home with him to “sleep it off,” and the victim left the apartment where they were. However, according to the report, Atlas followed the victim and yelled at them before again trying to attack. While the witness tried to intervene, the attack left the victim with a forearm scratch and a torn tank top.

A new report from TMZ Sports says that the case has now been dropped with an official declaring in documents that the “case is not suitable for prosecution.”

A hearing scheduled for the case has now been cancelled and as far as the court is concerned, the matter is now considered closed.
