AEW Star Will Ospreay’s Surgery Timeline Revealed

AEW Star Will Ospreay says WWE stars reach out to him to help with neck surgery

There is an update on AEW star Will Ospreay’s impending neck surgery.

Following the attack on him at All In: Texas by the Death Riders, Ospreay was seemingly written off with a neck injury. While previously ruled out of action, The Aerial Assassin returned ahead of Forbidden Door: London and confirmed his status for the show.

Coming out victorious in the main event of the show, Ospreay then became a victim of another brutal ambush by Jon Moxley and his Death Riders, following which he was stretchered out. Long suffering from neck issues, the attack was staged to write him off television.

Now, sidelined with his serious neck issue, Ospreay is set to undergo surgery. Dave Meltzer of WON noted that the AEW star was scheduled to go under the knife “in a few weeks” to repair herniated discs in his neck. Later, Fightful Select also confirmed the update and claimed that The Billy Goat would undergo surgery within the next few weeks.

We at ITR Wrestling wish Will Ospreay a safe and steady recovery.

Will Ospreay Recalls His Conversation With AEW Star Adam Copeland Ahead Of His Surgery

Just days before the Forbidden Door London PPV, Ospreay appeared in an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri for CBS Sports, where he opened up about his conversation with Adam Copeland about undergoing neck surgery.

[Copeland] Said, ‘The hardest things are not the surgery, it’s the mental stuff that comes afterwards. Just know that I’ve been here and I’ve done it. So any time that you want to talk and bulls**t, here’s my number.’”

Scared about the procedure, Ospreay also claimed:

I’m anxious. I’m scared. Generally, I’m terrified. Not about the match, but just about afterwards. I don’t know what it looks like afterwards.

For the first time in my life, I have to realize that this is something serious and I don’t know how to navigate those emotions. I might have to kiss this part of my high-flying offense goodbye now. It’s something that I’m not ready to let go. I’ll be honest with you, I’m not ready to let go.”
