AEW star Brian Cage is living up to his nickname of “The Machine.”
Providing an update to the fans via his Instagram story, Cage first posted a picture of his wound post-surgery before confirming that he had undergone a procedure on his knee. In a series of follow-up posts, Cage added that he was already back in the gym and that it was a positive step in his road to recovery:
“Got cleared to go to the gym, do some physical therapy, do a little bit of this, do a little bit of that. Awesome, awesome step forward,” he said. “Definitely [the] uplift that I needed today. Have a lot of friends coming in pretty soon here this week and weekend. I should be a little bit more mobile than I thought I would be. So, could be fun. Could be a good time.”
Cage suffered the injury while competing against Chris Masters at an independent show on March 20th. AEW’s plans changed as a result of the injury as Cage and Lance Archer were originally set to challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the Tag Team Championships at Dynasty. Big Bill and Bryan Keith were the replacement opponents and lost the title match at the pay-per-view.
At this time it is unknown how long Cage will be out of action for or the severity of the injury. On the April 9th episode of Dynamite, Don Callis noted that as Cage and Mark Davis were dealing with injuries then he was looking at recruiting new members to the group.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish Brian Cage a full and speedy recovery.
AEW Provides Another Injury Update
Unfortunately, another injury occurred on the April 9th Dynamite as PAC’s match with Swerve Strickland was cut short. With PAC reigning as one-third of the Trios Champions, it was unknown whether The Death Riders would continue to be champions or if the titles would be vacated. A few days later, a replacement was announced for the injured AEW star.
