An AEW star has been indefinitely suspended by NJPW following an incident at Capital Collision on Saturday.

Juice Robinson had been scheduled to face Fred Rosser at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C, however the match never officially got underway after Robinson launched a vicious attack on his foe.

Rosser had earlier taunted the AEW star by reserving a seat for his real-life wife Toni Storm at ringside, an act that incensed Robinson. As Rosser made his way to the ring for the highly anticipated bout, Robinson shocked him with an attack from behind and proceeded to deliver a sickening piledriver in the entrance way.

He followed up with a series thunderous strikes with his belt before officials stepped in to try and intervene in the assault.

Robinson wasn’t done there however, and delivered a powerful blow with a roll of quarters rendering his intended opponent helpless. Before departing he demanded his opponent pay more respet to Storm, in an outburst reminiscent of Will Smith’s famous rant at the 2022 Academy Awards:

“You keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!”

NJPW acted quickly following the attack and released the following statement:

“Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

On April 15 at Capital Collision, a scheduled match between Juice Robinson and Fred Rosser ended in a no contest when Robinson attacked Rosser before the bell, and also assaulted an official.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling holds the safety of its competitors and staff at the highest priority, and after careful consideration, has determined that Juice Robinson be suspended effective immediately and until further notice.

As a result, Robinson will not compete at Collision in Philadelphia. NJPW apologises for the sudden card change and any inconvenience and disappointment caused.”

Rosser was announced as Robinson’s replacement in the IWGP United States Championship Contender tournament, with a semi-final match up against Lance Archer set to take place on Sunday in Philadelphia. It is not yet known how long the suspension Robinson must serve will be.
