AEW Star Speaks Out In Support Of CM Punk – “He’s Really Awesome”

CM Punk holding his ears

CM Punk hasn’t been involved with AEW since that infamous September night at All Out.

However, it appears that the former World Champion will be All Elite once more in the very near future. It has been reported that Punk will make his return to the company on the debut episode of Collision on June 17th at the United Center in Chicago.

Punk’s return appears to have come at a perfect time with AEW All In at Wembley Stadium just around the corner.

Speaking in a new interview with BBC Norfolk to promote the event, Saraya said she would “absolutely” like to see Punk come back to AEW. She went on to praise the star, before adding that she just wants what’s best for business.

“I’ve said this before with Punk. He’s always been an absolute sweetheart to me. He’s never once had any conflict whatsoever. He’s been very helpful and given a lot advice over the years.

Since basically near the beginning of when I was at WWE, he was kind of on his way out, but I remember coming up on live event loops, and he was very nice. Going into WWE Backstage, always very nice. Coming into AEW, he had reached out to me, ‘If you need anything.’ He’s really awesome.

I want whatever is best for business. If people don’t like each other, you have to find that common ground in a professional setting. There are people I haven’t liked over the years, but I’ve never let my personal feelings get in the way of business, at the end of the day. If he was to come back, it would be great for AEW, it would be great for tickets too.

Wembley is already doing awesome without anyone announced, but do you bring in the big dogs? Absolutely. We do have Chris Jericho, we do have the Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) and Kenny (Omega), and hopefully, we bring in Punk too.”

CM Punk Will Appear On AEW Dynamite

As part of CM Punk’s return, it has been reported that AEW will undergo a roster split. In crude terms, those with existing issues with Punk will remain on Dynamite, while those who don’t will help make up the roster for Collision.

However, a fresh update has suggested that the roster split will not be as rigid as previously thought. This means that Punk will also appear on Dynamite when the situation calls for it, while the women’s roster likely won’t be split at all.
