AEW X STARDOM Have Enjoyed A Strong Working Relationship
The two companies have been working closely together for several months, which saw stars such as Mina Shirakawa challenge for the All Elite Wrestling Women’s World Champion at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
Previously, there was some tension between the two companies due to differences between Tony Khan and STARDOM founder Rossy Ogawa. However, with Ogawa’s departure from STARDOM, the landscape has changed dramatically.
Ogawa, was terminated from his position at STARDOM in February 2024 for poaching talent and staff for a new promotion, which resulted in the creation of Dream Star Fighting Marigold.
Although in its infancy, the new promotion has developed a strong partnership with WWE. Recent signing Guilia has helped establish the company while IYO SKY returned to her home country to face Utami Hayashishita in a critically acclaimed outing.
