Saraya has addressed her wrestling future.
Parting ways with WWE in 2022, Saraya made her AEW debut at Grand Slam on 21st September 2022. A part of the promotion for almost three years now, she is also a one-time Women’s World Champion at the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Last seen wrestling on the October 8th episode of Dynamite, The Glampire has not wrestled since. After being ruled out of in-ring action several years ago, ‘The Anti-Diva’ made her much-awaited in-ring return at Full Gear 2022. Wrestling after almost five years, she recently addressed her retirement plans as well.
Speaking to Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated, the former WWE star opened up on her absence and future.
“I’m letting people beat me, left, right and center. I was on a losing streak, but I just wanted people to get their rub. I want to uplift everybody. I’m not gonna be in wrestling forever. I’m coming to the end of it and it’s very soon. And I don’t wanna go out being like, I need to be on top.”
Her last victory came against Nyla Rose on the August 2024 episode of Rampage. Earlier this year, in an interview with TMZ, Saraya also confirmed her contract status with the promotion and its expiry date.
Saraya Wants To Pursue This AEW Championship Following Her Return
In the same interview with TMZ, the British wrestler expressed her desire to face Mercedes Mone for her TBS Championship, following her return.
“Yeah, I love WWE. I appreciate everybody there. They made me. They gave me my career and I’m appreciative of that. One day, who knows. I love my time in AEW. don’t know. I’m ready to go now. It’s just trying the best way to introduce me again. I would love to go against Mercedes. I think it’s important. She ‘ended my career,’ in a way. It’s wrestling, it happens, but coming back it would be really great to face off with her.”
