AEW Star Ricochet Addresses Scary WWE Spot With Logan Paul: “It’s Fight Or Flight”

Logan Paul and Ricochet at WWE SummerSlam 2023

Ricochet has opened up on his scary moment with Logan Paul.

Debuting in AEW last year as a babyface, Ricochet has steadily evolved himself into one of the top heels on the roster right now. Enjoying his villainous run at the Jacksonville-based promotion, Ricochet had mostly maintained a babyface character during his run in WWE.

Almost a year before his departure, Ricochet was involved in a feud against Logan Paul, before setting his sights on the Intercontinental Championship. In 2023, the two stalwarts crossed paths multiple times and created several memorable moments.

Going viral with their mid-air collision at the 2023 Royal Rumble, the two were again involved in a Spanish Fly spot at the 2023 Money In the Bank PLE, where both of them landed on tables, taking a brutal bump. Recently, speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Ricochet recalled the spot and stated:

“I mean, in the moment (with Logan Paul at WWE Money in the Bank) I guess, especially in wrestling, you have to rely on your instincts a lot because sometimes, things don’t go right. Especially with what we do and when you add tables and ladders and all these types of things.

So, in those moments, fight or flight, reactions. Again, like you said, you have half a second to think about what you wanna do and I feel like most… I’m out there. Obviously, you’re trying to put on a show for the crowd and at the same time, I’m holding on to Logan Paul… We going, bro. You slip, I slip, it don’t matter. We going. We going.”

He further said,

“But then after that, he met me afterwards and we got in a little fight. They got it on camera. But, in that moment, it’s fight or flight, and I’m the one going backwards anyways. I’m going backwards so, it’s just one of those things where you have to take control of the situation and again, I’m comfortable in my abilities and my instincts and despite what you think of Logan, despite his attitude, what you think of all of that, the man is a first class athlete. The man is a stud when it comes to just being a physical performer. So, I knew he had it. It’s trust, but also, let’s just go. Let’s go.”

The two then again met at SummerSlam 2023, with The Maverick taking home the victory.

Ricochet Was Not Offended By This WWE Booking Decision

In the same above-mentioned interview with Adrian Hernandez, Ricochet opened up about his Speed Championship win toward the final days of his WWE run.

“No… You got to look at everything as an opportunity and if you don’t, then I think you’re already kind of defeated. You have to look at everything — especially, you know, they were putting something into this and I wanted to be a part of, again, building something. Building something and making it as big as possible.

I like that feeling and so, again, any opportunity you get, you gotta strike and that’s kind of the way I see it and that’s with everything. Life, wrestling, everything.”

In other news: A WWE legend was impressed by multiple budding NXT talents.

In a new interview, a WWE Hall of Famer explained why they had no issues with Toni Storm and Mariah May bleeding at AEW Revolution.

Additionally, Mike Bailey spoke about why it was time to sign with AEW.
