An AEW star has shared his thoughts on WWE’s Tiffany Stratton using his iconic move in the ring.
Christopher Daniels is a legend in the industry. He retired earlier this year after a brutal Texas Death Match against Hangman Adam Page and is currently the Head of Talent Relations for AEW.
The Fallen Angel is known for many things, but he is most famous for creating a unique version of the Moonsault, which he dubbed “The Best Moonsault Ever.”
While many wrestlers have attempted the move, one of the most successful current performers using it is WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, who calls it the “Prettiest Moonsault Ever.”
AEW’s Christopher Daniels Says He Can’t Be Mad At Tiffany Stratton Using His Move
On the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the AEW star was asked about his signature moonsault and his opinion on Tiffany Stratton using it.
Daniels said that while he doesn’t know the former WWE NXT champion personally, he thinks it is very cool of her to use his move, as she has given her unique spin.
He praised Stratton’s version and added that her homage by naming it in the same vein as the original is something he cannot be mad about. CD said:
“Which was very, very cool of her. I don’t know Tiffany at all. I’ve never met her. But the fact that she didn’t just copy it, she sort of adjusted it, which is what the greats do. I feel like they don’t just steal. If we are inspired by something, we try to put our own little spin on it. And so the fact that she goes from the bottom all the way up and then to sort of like, pay homage, call it in that same vein, PME, I was like, that’s pretty cool. I can’t be mad at that.”
On being asked if there was any secret to doing it, Daniels responded how he used to perform the move and admitted that while he didn’t do it perfectly all the time, he was lucky enough to do it for as long as he did. The AEW veteran added:
“Yeah. I mean, for me, the idea was using the top rope to sort of balance yourself until you bounce, and then once you bounce, it’s basically push from the top and bounce off the second at the same time to go straight. And you just got to keep your eyes on the ropes. So, I mean, I wasn’t perfect all the time, but I very rarely flubbed it. And just very lucky to be able to do it and keep doing it as long as I did.”

Tiffany Stratton has acknowledged in the past that the PME is an homage to Christopher Daniels, and it is great to see the mutual respect between the two stars from different generations.
