This article contains potential spoilers regarding the most recent set of IMPACT tapings in Nashville.
According to a new report, Christopher Daniels was backstage at the most recent set of IMPACT Wrestling tapings in Nashville.
As noted by Fightful Select, it is unclear whether Daniels got in the ring, but one person present at the tapings speculated that he was there to wrestle.
Christopher Daniels hasn’t wrestled since appearing on the May 12th edition of AEW Dynamite. On the show Daniels teamed with Frankie Kazarian to challenge the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Despite a spirited effort, the pair were unsuccessful and forced split as a result of the defeat.
The star first signed with TNA/IMPACT just as the company were starting out in 2002. Over the course of the next eight years, Daniels feuded with the likes of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, featuring in acclaimed bouts with both.
He took part in the only Dave Meltzer 5-star rated match in TNA history when he met Styles and Samoa Joe in an incredible 3-way match at Unbreakable in 2005.
During this period, Daniels also became a four-time X Division Champion.
After leaving TNA in 2010, Daniels returned to ROH while also appearing for Chikara and AAA. He re-joined TNA in early 2011, remaining with the company until 2014.
Daniels signed with AEW in 2019, enjoying a fine run alongside Frankie Kazarian. After defeat at the hands of the Young Bucks back in May, Daniels suggested that his in-ring career may have been over. Posting on social media, the former Tag Team Champion wrote, “That might be all.”
Christopher Daniels debuted in 1993, working on the independent scene before being signed to a WWF developmental deal in 1998. He also made appearances for WCW towards the end of the company’s existence.
