Current AEW World Tag Team Champion Swerve Strickland has hit back at online claims he is being wasted following his WWE release.
On the 12 August edition of SmackDown, released WWE Superstars Top Dolla, Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis, and B-FAB, collectively known as Hit Row, made their return to the company. They defeated two enhancement talents before re-introducing themselves to the live crowd.
Online discourse began following their comeback over the on-screen use of former Hit Row leader Swerve Strickland in All Elite Wrestling, with one user claiming his talent is being “wasted away”. He responded to these claims by posting a picture of AEW’s Twitter account header, which showcases every current champion, including himself and Keith Lee.

Swerve Strickland, known as Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott in WWE, is a former NXT North American Champion. He was released from WWE in November 2021 alongside Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis, mere weeks after Hit Row had made their main roster debut.
Following this, Strickland signed with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion in March at Revolution, forming a partnership not long after with Keith Lee to feud with Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs. This culminated in a World Tag Team championships victory over the Team Taz pairing and defending champions The Young Bucks at Fyter Fest.
