Giulia competed in WWE for the first time ever and received praise from one AEW star.
On the Tuesday, September 10th edition of NXT, the new signee made her in-ring debut. In her first match since leaving Japan, the former World of STARDOM champion faced Chelsea Green.
It was later announced that she would be finishing up her dates in Japan before heading Stateside. She then revealed that her final in Marigold would take place on August 25th.
The Japanese star then made her first NXT appearance at No Mercy for a staredown with Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez.
She confronted Perez again on the September 3rd NXT episode before taking out Chelsea Green with a knee to the face setting up her debut match.
Which AEW Star Praised Giulia’s WWE NXT Debut Match?
Having watched her debut, TNA star Nick Nemeth and AEW’s Thunder Rosa both praised the match and the performers. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the co-hosts said:
“Chelsea Green [was] the absolute perfect opponent [for Giulia]…Let’s get credit where it’s due,” Nemeth said first, praising both Green’s character and her in-ring skills. “It was a very competitive match and was a known person with a known identity who could hang in there and do anything.”
Rosa then added:
“It was a great introduction of Giulia, most definitely,” Rosa added. “Also, it’s very important that we understand that one of the reasons why Chelsea, not because she’s probably one of the most entertaining individuals in WWE at the moment, she was in Stardom before in 2016. So, she knows the strong style. She knows how to work that style, too, [and] that even adds more to this…And I love those little subtle things that she does…I love the fact that Chelsea can be Chelsea; even in a loss, she is over.”
