On the February 8th episode of AEW Dynamite, The Bunny wrestled her first match of 2023 against Jamie Hayter.
The bout was promoted as a Championship Eliminator, meaning that if The Bunny won she would earn a shot at Hayter’s Women’s Title.
Hayter took control of the match from the opening bell but The Bunny came back during a commercial break. However, the match appeared to be quickly brought to an end just as it was really hitting its stride. The Bunny landed awkwardly after a second Exploder Suplex and Hayter quickly went straight to the finish. After the match as the champion celebrated in the ring, her opponent was helped backstage.
It has now been reported by PWInsider that there is a concern The Bunny suffered a concussion or a broken orbital bone during the incident. The report adds that the star will be undergoing testing to determine the nature of any injury.
Jamie Hayter has held the AEW Women’s Championship since Full Gear back in November when she defeated Toni Storm to win what was initially the Interim Women’s Title. Hayter’s win was quickly upgraded after it was confirmed that current champion Thunder Rosa would not be returning to the ring in the near future.

What Happened On AEW Dynamite?
Dynamite opened with another World Title Eliminator, this time featuring champion MJF and Konosuke Takeshita. Despite a strong showing from Takeshita, it was MJF who scored the win. However, it wasn’t a perfect night for MJF as Bryan Danielson defeated Rush to earn a shot at the title at Revolution in an hour-long Ironman Match.
In the main event, The Gunns stunned The Acclaimed to win the AEW World Tag Team Titles.
