A former AEW wrestler has revealed that they are planning on starting up their own wrestling promotion.
Marko Stunt was released by AEW after they didn’t renew his contract, and he has been mostly seen working for GCW in recent times. However, while talking to Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston, he has now revealed that he is planning on starting up his own wrestling promotion in September.
“I’m actually, I have my own promotion coming up around where I live in Memphis. I think we’re starting here in September. We’re still trying to come up with everything and do everything. We haven’t released any posters or anything. That is coming soon. I am going to be starting up a promotion here. I also help out a lot with a show in Missouri, with the booker there. I’ve been getting into that role and trying to learn that type of stuff.”
Marko Stunt was recently named the Executive Vice President of Missouri wrestling promotion, Cape Championship Wrestling. When asked about his future goals in the wrestling business, Stunt went back to talking about his own promotion.
“That is my biggest goal right now. Starting that up, getting it running, having a little bit of eyes on it. It’ll be cool once it starts going, I think it’ll have initial buzz once I announce it and hopefully, I can keep that up, not get that initial pop and not know where to go from there.”
Marko Stunt disappeared from television not long after Christian Cage joined the company and hooked up with Jurassic Express, during his absence he auditioned for ‘The Voice’. He wasn’t ever really seen again on AEW television, with Christian Cage filling his manager role with the now former AEW World Tag Team Champions.
