AEW Star Out Of Action Until 2025

Tony Khan

An AEW star looks set for a lengthy spell out of the ring.

On the July 13th episode of AEW Collision, Dalton Castle took on Roderick Strong for the right to challenge Mark Briscoe for the ROH World Title.

However, the match came to an abrupt halt when Strong accidentally knocked Castle out cold with a jumping knee. The scary moment wasn’t the scheduled finish and the referee stopped their count at two despite Castle not kicking out. When the referee noticed the severity of the situation, Castle was counted to the mat.

The bout was taped on July 10th, and Dave Meltzer later described the incident as a “mess,” adding those involved were lucky the match wasn’t live.

AEW and ROH boss Tony Khan has now offered an update on Castle’s status.

Dalton Castle Won’t Return In 2024

In a new post on social media, Khan announced that Castle won’t wrestle again in 2024.

Some injury news that’s forced changes to the plans for this Friday’s #ROHDBD Death Before Dishonor @theDALTONcastle was injured in his Saturday Night #AEWCollision bout last week vs @roderickstrong. Sadly Dalton will be out of action for the remainder of 2024. Get well soon DC

ROH Death Before Dishonor is set to take place on July 26th at Esports Stadium Arlington in Texas. To date, only three matches have been confirmed for the show, with the ROH World Title match between Mark Briscoe and Roderick Strong expected to top the card.
