A member of the AEW roster is not done in the ring just yet.
Following his arrival at Grand Slam 2024, MVP has only competed in one match for the promotion, which saw him team with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to defeat Mark Briscoe and Private Party.
Remaining inactive for the final years of his WWE run and predominantly serving as the manager of The Hurt Syndicate as opposed to an active competitor, MVP has only competed in 4 matches since his WWE exit, potentially a sign that his in-ring career is coming to an end. However, during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the former United States Champion stated that he still has a few more matches left in him before all is said and done:
“No, not yet. I got a little bit left in me. It’s funny. We did a six-man about a month ago now, give or take, and they were teasing me because I was actually in there for a little while, and it felt good. It was coming back to me, and Shelton said, ‘Are you ever gonna tag out?’ I’m like oh yeah, maybe I should.”
Another AEW Star On The Road To Recovery
At the Dynasty pay-per-view, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin defeated Big Bill and Bryan Keith to retain the Tag Team Championships. Big Bill and Bryan Keith were not the original opponents as plans changed due to injury. Providing an update, the injured AEW star recently underwent surgery and is already back in the gym.
