Thunder Rosa hasn’t wrestled since August 10th, 2022 when she featured on a taping for Dark: Elevation which was aired five days later.
The star had been due to defend her Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm at All Out, but that match was scrapped. In its place, Toni Storm won the Interim Women’s Title in a Four-Way-Match.
Despite being injured, Rose held on to the Women’s Title until November. The situation caused a great deal of controversy with very few details about Rosa’s injury available, and Toni Storm became one of a number of women on the roster to call for her to come back to work.
Speaking at the Busted Open WrestleMania Party, Rosa has now offered an update on her comeback. The former champion said that she hasn’t been medically cleared, and doesn’t think she will be any time soon.
“That’s the question everyone asks me during the signings. Unfortunately, I wasn’t cleared and I don’t think I’m going to be cleared anytime soon. I need another MRI,”
Meanwhile, more details about the star’s injury were revealed on the April 5th episode of AEW All Access. On the behind-the-scenes show, Rosa was shown at the South Texas Spine & Joint Institute with her doctor, Chiropractor Dr. David Kaiser.
In the segment, Rosa said that she had been dealing with the injury for so long she couldn’t remember when it started. It was revealed that Rosa has two herniated disks, with the doctor adding that she has “two disk injuries with tears.”
Britt Baker Hits Out At Fellow AEW Star
In a recent interview, Britt Baker reiterated her suspicions about Thunder Rosa’s injury. The former Women’s Champion said that she has “questions” over the injury and why Rosa stopped appearing on AEW television.
Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa have a long and complicated history, with it being previously reported that the pair “can’t stand each other.”
