AEW Star Mocks Timing Of Bryan Danielson’s In-Ring Confession

Bryan Danielson is called out by a current AEW star after his recent confession.

In an interview with Kairouz Bros, Bryan Danielson, 44, revealed the state of his body. Bryan is someone who was forced into retirement at the peak of his WWE career. However, in 2018, Danielson made an unprecedented in-ring return after getting medically cleared.

Cut to 2025, Bryan is no longer confident he can compete at an elite level in AEW, so he would rather have a relaxed schedule and have some fun.

“From a wrestling perspective, it seems to be more fun to go and do an indie show in front of 200 people, or something like that,” Danielson explained. “And that doesn’t say anything about AEW, it’s just that the expectations for me would be so much less, in the sense of like, okay, I don’t feel like my body can do what I’d be expected to do in AEW. And that’s one of the great things about going to AEW shows, is it’s action-packed, it’s hard-hitting, it’s great. But, I don’t feel confident that I’m able to perform at that level anymore.”

Ricochet Fires Shots At Former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson

On August 25, 2024, Ricochet debuted in AEW. He was dissatisfied with WWE, but admitted that an infamous booking decision was not the worst thing. The same night, Bryan Danielson had locked horns with Swerve Strickland and defeated the latter to become the AEW World Champion. Since losing the belt in October, though, he has only made sporadic appearances for Tony Khan’s promotion.

Ricochet sparked some controversy when he implied on X that Bryan Danielson was scared to compete with him.

Suuuuure, as soon as I get here he all of a sudden can’t perform at that level anymore? Sounds sus.

Ricochet appears to have found himself in AEW, drawing out a distinctive character. It remains to be seen if he and Danielson, both former WWE stars, have a match at some point.
