Former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa made her return to action at an international show and became a new champion in the process.
Competing at Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling’s Thunder Road show in London on October 15th, Rosa defeated Nina Samuels in the 17-minute bout to become the new Women’s Champion for the promotion.
Prior to the Riot Cabaret appearance, Rosa last competed on Collision on August 31st in a 4-way match against Hikaru Shida, Queen Aminata and Serena Deeb, which was won by Shida.
Rosa is also a former AEW Women’s Champion after defeating Britt Baker in March 2022 to win the title in a steel cage match. Rosa would hold the championship until September when it was declared that Toni Storm’s interim reign was retroactively altered to a lineal reign.
AEW Star Thunder Rosa Cleared To Compete
The former AEW Women’s Champion was sidelined for a number of months after suffering a concussion. In late September, a report claimed that Rosa was cleared to compete and would be making her imminent return to action. However, clarifying the rumours, Rosa hit back at the report by stating that she was not cleared and requested that people stop lying about her health.
It is currently unknown when Rosa will make her return to TV.
Rosa is not the only former champion in the promotion to be cleared to compete as a former TNT Champion also recently stated that they are just waiting for the call to return.
