AEW Star Makes Bold Claim About 2023 PPV Match

AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs is extremely proud of his match at All Out.

Although the promotion is filled with feats of athleticism and high-risk moves, there is still a place in the promotion for the dominant big men to show off their power. Samoa Joe currently rules the main event scene as World Champion and Big Bill is one-half of the Tag Team Champions. In September 2023, two former TNT Champions collided in a match that got the crowd very excited.

All Out 2023 received backlash before the show even began. Along with the Chicago crowd feeling short-changed that their pay-per-view felt lacking compared to All In the previous week, Tony Khan had announced that CM Punk had been fired just 24 hours before. However, for those that were on the card, they were going to do everything possible to maximise their minutes.

Powerhouse Hobbs and Miro collided in what has been since referred to as the “Meat match.” A physical match between 2 big men, the encounter was extremely well received by the Chicago crowd. According to one of the participants, it was the best of its kind.

Speaking with Adrian Hernandez, Hobbs is very proud of the match and believes that it is the best big man vs. big man match in AEW history:

“It was awesome. The match went unbelievable. To be told to keep going and going and having the energy from the fans. The fans will make you. They tell you what they want. They wanted more of it. I believe that was the best big man match in the history of the company so far.”

Powerhouse Hobbs Looks Back On AEW Dynamite Match With Sting

The former TNT Champion recently teamed up with Konosuke Takeshita to take on Sting and Darby Allin in what will be one of The Icon’s final matches. Looking back on the match with Sting, Hobbs admitted that taking part in the match and having Ric Flair at ringside felt like a dream.
