Malakai Black’s AEW colleague Julia Hart has opened up on his contract rumors.
Rumors have been circulating about Malakai Black’s AEW status for the past few months. Last year in November, Adam Cole faced off against Black in a winning bout. However, as the match concluded, both men embraced before Black walked up through the ramp, taking a long look at the crowd. Which led to fans speculating about it being Black’s final moment at the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Although Malakai Black soon brushed aside the rumors through his social media post, they persisted to continue. Later, Fightful Select noted that Black’s contract could be up in late 2024 or early 2025. And, in another recent update from Fightful Select, it was reported that Black may very well be finishing with the promotion.
Addressing the situation, House of Black member Julia Hart has broken her silence on it. In an interview with Denise Salcedo, the former TBS Champion claimed that she is not aware of the situation, but will be happy with whatever Black ends up doing.
“He has been such a great rock for me and I appreciate everything he’s ever done with me. The rumors aren’t confirmed or anything, so I don’t know what exactly is going on. Anything could be happening. We don’t know. So, it’s just a matter of fact whatever happens, happens, and I’m happy for him no matter what happens, and I think House of Black will be okay.”

Hart recently returned from a shoulder injury after being out for almost eight months and defeated Jaymie Hayter on the January 1st episode of Dynamite Fight For The Fallen.
Adding to the speculation that he left AEW, Malakai Black’s HoB partner Brody King has been encouraged to step out of Black’s shadow.
