One AEW star took a shot at reports of CM Punk being “unhappy” in the company.
During the opening segment of last week’s AEW Dynamite, CM Punk went off-script and called out Hangman Adam Page for an impromptu Championship rematch. Reports suggested afterward that Punk “went into business for himself,” and his decision to go off-script stemmed from backstage issues with Page and the company.
Some sources suggested that Punk was on the verge of outright quitting. While it’s still unclear whether or not Punk does indeed have gripes against AEW, two people who sarcastically pushed back on the rumors of Punk being “unhappy” are FTR’s Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler.
Last week, FTR commented on a piece of fan art of them carrying Punk on their shoulders, joking that he “bullied” them into it, and he “completely went into business for himself with this great piece of art.” Hardwood continued to poke fun at the rumours by posting a photo of himself with Punk.
He gave me the ‘jobber jaw punch’ pose. And if you can’t tell, he’s VERY unhappy.

Regardless of backstage rumours, Punk is set to return to action on the August 24th edition of AEW Dynamite in a huge World Title unification match against Interim Champion Jon Moxley.
