CM Punk made his in-ring return last night at the debut episode of AEW Collision.
In his return match, he teamed with close friends FTR to take on the team of Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe. Punk and FTR were successful thanks to Punk hitting Juice Robinson with his Go To Sleep finisher for the three count.
However, before this match, CM Punk opened Collision to cut a promo. Evidently, a few lines from this promo have been met with vexation from the AEW roster.
AEW Star Hits Back At CM Punk – “They Won’t Put Me In The Ring With Him”
During CM Punk’s return promo, he made a cutting remark about AEW’s fans and wrestlers, referring to them as “soft.”
“I am sorry…. That the only people softer than you are the wrestlers you like.”
In response to this, The Murderhawk Monster Lance Archer tweeted out the following from his @LanceHoyt account;
“I’m not. But he won’t fight me and #AEW won’t put me in the ring w him.”
CM Punk has yet to respond to Lance Archer’s tweet at the time of writing, leaving it uncertain whether this exchange will lead to a match between them.
Lance Archer has not wrestled for All Elite Wrestling since March 24th, when he defeated Bryce Cannon on Dark: Elevation. With regards to televised broadcasts of AEW’s shows, Archer hasn’t been seen in-ring since a loss to Ricky Starks on the November 18th, 2022 edition of Rampage.
Recently, Lance Archer has been competing in the UK for promotions such as Rev Pro and 1PW, where he has defeated the likes of Connor Mills and Amir Jordan. He was also featured in NJPW‘s #1 Contendership Tournament, where he beat Fred Rosser but then lost to Will Ospreay at NJPW Dominion in Osaka.
