In the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, a solemn update regarding Chuck Taylor‘s ankle injury was disclosed, culminating in the revelation that the nature of the fracture and the presence of necrosis of the bone underneath the cartilage have rendered the injury career-ending for Taylor.
This development was confirmed by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, further solidifying the gravity of Taylor’s predicament.
The commentary during the show shed light on the severity of Taylor’s injury, with Excalibur elucidating that due to the nature of the fracture and the presence of necrosis of the bone, the injury is deemed likely to be career-ending. The gravity of the situation was underscored by Meltzer’s report, affirming the accuracy of the statements made on television regarding Taylor’s prospects for returning to the ring.
On television they talked about Chuck Taylor’s career perhaps being over. In storyline they say it’s over but have also given wiggle room. From what we are told, what was said on television was accurate and the belief right now is that Taylor won’t be able to wrestle again.
While acknowledging the potential for unexpected comebacks in the wrestling world, Meltzer emphasised the bleak outlook for Taylor’s in-ring future, echoing Excalibur’s assessment that even with surgery, the likelihood of a successful return remains slim.
Excalibur on the show said that due to the nature of the fracture and the presence of necrosis of the bone (death of the bone) in fragments underneath the cartilage, the injury is likely career ending. Granted, Sting, Bryan Danielson, Katsuyori Shibata, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage all on this very roster were all told that and may have believed that and all came back and did great things so I always think there are no absolutes. They said that even with surgery he may not be able to and more than likely won’t be able to come back.
Why Was A Person In Attendance At ROH Tapings Following AEW Dynamite Ejected From The Venue?
A person in attendance at the ROH tapings that followed AEW Dynamite on May 8th was ejected from the building after they allegedly made multiple inappropriate comments directed at Skye Blue. Blue retaliated by telling the person to “f**k off” and to “not be such a pervert.” It was also reported that the audience member had a young child with them in attendance.
In a new update, Taylor is hopeful that one day he can make an AEW return.
