Eddie Kingston will undergo surgery later in the year.
Previously competing at the NJPW Resurgence pay-per-view, Kingston landed badly when he was put through a table on the outside as his leg hit the guardrail. Originally suspected to be a broken leg, it was later confirmed that Eddie Kingston also suffered a torn ACL and meniscus and would require surgery, meaning that he would be sidelined for even longer than first expected.
When previously asked about the injuries by PWInsider, Kingston said the following:
“Not mad. I don’t give a f***. it’s what happens when you wrestle. Just gotta get f**king better.”
More bad news came for Kingston as it was also reported that surgeons were unable to operate on his knee until the leg fracture had healed. The latest update from PWInsider is that Kingston will undergo the surgery on July 8th. As previously reported, providing there are no further setbacks then the AEW star will be set to return to action around May 2025.
Eddie Kingston Misses Wild Anarchy In The Arena Match
Kingston was originally set to team with Bryan Danielson and FTR to take on The Elite in the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. However, as a result of the injury, Kingston was replaced by Darby Allin, who made his shock return to AEW in his home state of Washington.
Unsurprisingly, an Anarchy in the Arena match featuring Darby Allin was exactly as most expected it to be with the former TNT Champion diving off balconies, being hung upside down above the ring and super kicked by The Young Bucks’ thumbtack-covered sneakers. Taking the insanity one step further than Kingston managed to back in 2022, Allin utilised his flamethrower and set Jack Perry on fire.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes continues to wish Eddie Kingston a full and speedy recovery.
