Eddie Kingston has given an insight into his ongoing recovery process.
Earlier in the year, Kingston suffered a tibia fracture, torn ACL and meniscus, meaning that he was suspected to be out of action for the best part of a year. Undergoing surgery in July, the projected timeline of a return for Eddie Kingston is in May of next year.
While speaking with The DAVINci Report, Kingston stated that while he was still recovering he is able to walk and start training again and is desperate to get back in the ring:
“Just healing up from a fracture of my tibia, strain on my meniscus, and I had to get my ACL replaced. A lot of fun.
It’s been a process. It’s going good, until my insurance acts up, and that’s when I get annoyed. Insurance is a fraud, folks. Just throwing that out there.
I’m starting to get itchy at home. I can walk now, a little bit. I can walk, I can lift weights. I can do squats a little bit, not too low. Now it’s at the point of, ‘Let’s hurry this up. Let’s get going.'”
In a previous interview, Eddie Kingston stated that he wanted to carry out a controversial angle in his rivalry with Chris Jericho but was ultimately refused by Tony Khan.
When Did Eddie Kingston Last Wrestle?
Kingston’s tibia fracture occurred while competing for New Japan at the Resurgence pay-per-view back in May, which saw the former NJPW Strong Openweight Champion lose the title to Gabe Kidd. The injury was the result of Kingston diving to the outside but his leg got caught on the barricade.
Kingston last wrestled for AEW back at the Dynasty pay-per-view.
Also in the interview, Eddie Kingston discussed the state of the promotion in his absence.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes continues to wish Eddie Kingston a full and speedy recovery.
