Eddie Kingston has broken his silence following the shock debut of Claudio Castagnoli in AEW at Forbidden Door in Chicago.
Bryan Danielson promised a replacement that would astound the wrestling world after confirming injury was going to keep him off Forbidden Door and out of the Blood & Guts cage. Claudio Castagnoli – former WWE Superstar Cesaro – was that astounding surprise as he defeated NJPW Zack Sabre Jr. in the United Center.
Castagnoli has also joined William Regal’s Blackpool Combat Club and will join a team of six inside Blood & Guts to face The Jericho Appreciation Society – much to the chagrin of one of his teammates in that bout, Eddie Kingston.
Kingston was plainly not thrilled by Castgnoli’s appearance at the end of Forbidden Door as a huge brawl broke out and his reaction to the news on social media was in stark contrast to others in the wrestling world.
Speaking to MLive Eddie Kingston first discussed his feelings going into Blood & Guts and what he has planned does not sound good for The Wizard and his cohort:
“You’re not gonna see me come off the top of the cage. I’m gonna use the cage as a weapon. I’m going to kick, I’m going to punch, I’m going to bite. I’m going to try and make you quit.”
“It’s called ‘Blood & Guts’ for a reason. Is there gonna be blood? Most likely. Is there going to be guts? You know, we’re going to spill our guts out there in front of all y’all. It’s just a violent place (the cage) and Detroit is a violent city, so it’s just perfect.”
As for Claudio Castagnoli, Eddie Kingston admits he plainly didn’t like the fact he now has to team with him:
“Of course I didn’t like it. I don’t trust the guy and people who say whatever they want to say about me, that I’m a hothead and I don’t let things go. I just know when I see bad people, I like to call him out on it.”
