A member of the AEW roster may have seen their Continental Classic dreams come to a sudden end just one week into the tournament.
On November 27th, Collision was taped ahead of time in preparation for the November 30th broadcast. On the show, Juice Robinson lost to Will Ospreay in the opening round of the Gold League. Unfortunately, a follow-up report stated that Juice Robinson suffered an injury at the taping and was spotted on crutches backstage.
Discussing the injury on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that the injury is a suspected broken foot:
“He had X-Rays and he had not had the results back as of yesterday, but he was fearing a broken foot. We’ll find out Wednesday, I guess,”
With the Continental Classic being a round robin tournament, Robinson has a minimum of 5 more matches scheduled. Addressing the possibility of Robinson being removed from the tournament, Meltzer outlined the promotion’s options moving forward:
“I would think that if he’s out (of the tournament), they would have to make an announcement. And there’s a bunch of different ways they can go about it. They can just have him forfeit the rest of his matches and then readjust everything for the people that he was going to beat. They could do that, they could put somebody in as a replacement. Those are basically your choices,”
