AEW Star Credits Chris Jericho For Helping His Confidence

An AEW star has opened up about the support they have received from Chris Jericho while with the company.

Known for consistently reinventing himself throughout his wrestling career, Jericho’s latest persona has seen the former World Champion become The Learning Tree, a delirious veteran believing is he helpful to the younger stars. Although the creation is very tongue in cheek, one star recently admitted they have benefited.

Big Bill has worked with Jericho previously in WWE and is currently aligned with The Learning Tree in AEW. Appearing on Rasslin’, the former Tag Team Champion discussed his experiences working with Jericho and how his confidence has increased:

“Yeah, for sure. I got to work with him pretty quickly when I was in WWE. When I came back to AEW, I wanted to work with him, or work a program with him, work on his team, and then when he pitched this to me, I was like, yeah, this is great. So it’s constantly asking him for advice. Not just about wrestling, either. About life and stuff like that, and he’s always got really, really good advice.

The one thing that he’s helped me with maybe the most is confidence. I feel like since I started with Chris, my confidence has started to get higher and higher, which can probably be seen on the screen. Working with Chris, I know now my instincts are good, and I am good, and he’s constantly reinforcing that for me.”

Chris Jericho Shows No Sign Of Ending In-Ring Career

Despite the fact that fans have chanted for Jericho to retire, the AEW star continues to ignore the request. Seemingly indicating that The Learning Tree will be here to stay, Chris Jericho recently filed a trademark in relation to the character.

Also in the interview, Big Bill discussed his sobriety as he approaches the 5-year anniversary.

H/t to Fightful.
