AEW Star Confirms Nature Of Injury, Provides Recovery Update

AEW star Miro has provided an update in regards to his status.

Prior to Revolution, it was announced that a Meat Madness match would be taking place at the pay-per-view with Lance Archer, Powerhouse Hobbs and Wardlow being announced as the first competitors. However, a few days before the pay-per-view, Tony Khan stated that he had to cancel the match as wrestlers that he wanted in the match were unavailable, such as The Redeemer and Keith Lee. Instead, an 8-man All Star Scramble match was booked as a replacement, which was won by Wardlow.

Although the former TNT Champion was announced as being unavailable in the media call, a fan on social media asked Miro about his absence, to which he said the following:

I’ve been injured since September and i got medical attention in January. Sorry he wasn’t aware of it

Speaking with Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, The Redeemer elaborated more on the nature of his injury and his road to recovery:

“I have a shoulder injury and an elbow injury that occurred late last year, so finally took care of it late January, got a whole bunch of shots. Now I’m recovering, rehabbing, and come back stronger than ever,”

Miro was also asked about his experiences working with Tony Khan:

Tony’s great, man. He’s creative, his mind is running always, he always thinks about wrestling, he’s always thinking about how to get things better. So I respect that. I respect that he loves wrestling – he did all his life. And now he’s carried that to the second or one of the biggest companies in the world.

When Did Miro Last Wrestle In AEW?

Despite stating that he was injured back in September, the former TNT Champion worked through the injury as his final match took place in December 2023. Wrestling at Worlds End, Miro defeated Andrade El Idolo in what was El Idolo’s final match with the company before making his return to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish Miro a full and speedy recovery.
