AEW star Tay Melo could be back on TV very soon.
Last competing on AEW TV back in January 2023, Melo took time away from the ring as she gave birth to her first child. Appearing on husband Sammy Guevara’s vlog ahead of All In, Melo, Guevara and their daughter are seen sitting inside Wembley Stadium. When Guevara asks if fans will see his wife in the ring anytime soon, Melo stated some calls will need to be made as she is cleared to compete:
“You gotta call Tony Khan and ask him because I don’t know about that. I’m cleared, though. I’m cleared. Mama is cleared. Just got cleared. Let’s hope [I’ll be back soon].”
Guevara was in action at All In on the zero-hour portion of the show. Part of a 10-man tag team match, the former TNT Champion teamed with Dustin Rhodes, The Von Erichs and Katsuyori Shibata to defeat Cage of Agony and The Undisputed Kingdom. Yet to appear on AEW TV, Guevara has been competing in Ring of Honor and reigns as one-half of the Tag Team Champions alongside Rhodes.
Hailing the recent event as a success, Tony Khan issued a statement on All In.
AEW Has No Plans For Former Champion
While it remains unknown when Melo will be back on TV and what the creative plans might be, it appears that another absent wrestler will not be coming back at all. According to a recent report, AEW has no creative plans for a former champion.
