AEW Star Claps Back After Being Called Mercedes Hogan

AEW Mercedes Mone Hulk Hogan

This popular AEW star does not want to be called “Mercedes Hogan.”

A few years ago, in 2022, Mercedes Mone parted ways with WWE. After almost a year-long gap, Mone joined NJPW and successfully captured gold there. Following an impressive tenure, she joined All Elite Wrestling in 2024 and soon became the TBS Champion.

Reportedly having creative control in the promotion, Mone has often been booked in several high-profile matches and successfully holds multiple titles at present. Enjoying an illustrious run at Tony Khan’s promotion, The CEO is currently the CMLL World Women’s Champion, the EWA Women’s Champion, and the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion, while also being the AEW TBS Champion.

However, her success has also attracted severe negative comments from fan chants, with many of them often shouting out “Mercedes Hogan” at her. Which is in reference to Hulk Hogan’s infamous “creative control” clauses in his deal during his prime. However, recently during an Instagram live session, Mone clapped back at those chants and strictly mentioned that she does not want to be addressed along the same line as the Hulkster, but had an interesting take:

Don’t call me Mercedes Hogan. Call me, Mercedes Omega.”

Mone’s comments were a reference to Kenny Omega, when he held three titles together a few years ago.

Well, if the DMD wants a back adjustment, she knows where to find me, in my locker room. Well, make sure to knock on my door first before entering, or I’m going to call security and the cops.”
