AEW star Swerve Strickland has been cast in an upcoming horror movie.

Deadline reports that Strickland has been cast in Stiletto, a slasher movie written and directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr. Gigi Gustin will star in the film, and she’s also one of the executive producers. Filming is set to begin later this month.

A description of the project reads as follows:

“A year after the grisly murder of a local exotic dancer, the victim’s sister, Lyric [Gustin], searches for the serial killer responsible as he stalks and kills his favorite dancers on the night of the anniversary.”

Gonzalez Jr. had this to say about his upcoming project:

“When I was a kid I would venture into the back section of the video store to find the most obscure 80s horror flicks I could find. I was fascinated with the ‘strange and unusual’ but most specifically, the early slasher cinema of that period. Stiletto follows in the bloody footsteps of those films we love so much but also pushes it to the cinematic limit, with memorable kills and a diverse cast of both up and comers and legends alike. It’s a true love ‘obituary’ and we can’t wait to introduce the world to our Stiletto Killer.”

Swerve Strickland Paid Tribute To Bray Wyatt At AEW Full Gear

Strickland has made no secret of the fact that he’s a fan of the horror genre, and at Full Gear on back in November, he wore special gear in tribute to fellow horror-lover Bray Wyatt, who tragically passed away in August at the young age of 36.

Speaking with Sam Roberts, Strickland explained why it was important for him to pay tribute to Wyatt, citing the star’s work as “brilliant” and “ahead of his time.” He also spoke about his love for horror, saying:

“No matter what, if it was their taste or wasn’t, I’m a horror person, and I was really happy to see a new age of horror brought to the screen in an industry that I love and I was like, ‘Man, that was a revolutionary.’ I wanted to take a little piece of that into what I was doing that night. If anything, I feel like his spirit powered that match.” (h/t Fightful)
